欧米人は、出された料理を１皿ずつ食べつくし、いくつもの皿の食材を同時に口の中に入れない（人が多い）。
これは消化にいい食べ方なのだという。食材によって、分泌される唾液や胃液、そして胆汁の量（質も）が違うので、混乱させないため。それを、口の中でいくつもの食材を混ぜてしまうと、体が的確な対応ができないらしい。
ゆっくり噛んで食べるというのも、砕いたもののほうが消化にいいという物理的な理由だけ...
